When it comes to hiring a skip, there are a number of things to consider.

With a huge variety of different sized skips available for hire, it can be difficult to know which one will accommodate the quantity and type of waste you need to dispose of. It is important to choose the right sized skip – too small and you will have unwanted waste left over with the prospect of having to get another skip.

3 TONNE MINI SKIP - 3 DAY HIRE

The smallest skip available and perfect for small domestic jobs such as garden work and small DIY projects.

5ft in length x 4ft width x 3ft depth

5 TONNE MIDI SKIP - 5 DAY HIRE

Offering sufficient space to accommodate waste from kitchen or bathroom refits or a garden clearance, a 5 tonne midi skip is ideal for medium size domestic projects.

6ft 10” in length x 5ft in width x 3ft depth

6 TONNE LARGE MIDI SKIP – 7 DAY HIRE

One of the most frequently hired skips, the 6 tonne skip is ideal for a wide range of projects, from kitchen, bathroom and other renovations to garden projects and garage clearances.

We hold all the necessary Environment Agency’s permits and licences and our waste recycling and transfer site based in Carlton, Barnsley is a (Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board) accredited site.

WASTES ACCEPTED IN OUR SKIPS

You pay for a general, mixed waste skip.
So you can fill the skip with any combinations of the following.

  • Soil, brick and rubble
  • Garden waste
  • General household
  • Wood
  • Plastics
  • Plasterboard
  • Scrap metal
  • Carpet and textiles

All skip prices include VAT and providing the skip can be placed on a drive or private property.

All skip prices include VAT and providing the skip can be placed on a drive or private property. If the skip is to be placed on any council property, road, pavement, grass verge etc – the council require us to request a skip permit and charge £35 for this.

CONDITIONS OF HIRE

LEVEL LOADING

All skips must be filled to a level load. No extension boards, doors etc are allowed.

Overloading is dangerous and illegal.

Our drivers, in consideration of their licences and the safety of other road users and pedestrians, will refuse to uplift overloaded skips. Overloaded skips will not be collected.

SPECIAL WASTE NOT ALLOWED IN A SKIP

A mixed waste skip allows you to load any combination of non hazardous waste; household, commercial, soil, rubble and garden waste.

Waste classified by the government as HAZARDOUS waste cannot be accepted in our skips. Currently we cannot accept;
ASBESTOS, TYRES, FRIDGE/FREEZERS, CAR BATTERIES, GAS CYLINDERS, FLUORESCENT TUBING, TV and COMPUTER MONITORS.

DAMAGE TO HIRERS PROPERTY

Whenever a skip is delivered and required by the hirer to be placed off the road, Heeley Skips will not be liable for any damage caused.

Often domestic driveways are not strong enough to withstand the lorries weight, especially on the full skip collection.

Manholes, gate posts, gutters and downpipes can all be damaged in tight squeezes.

For this reason skips placed off the road on the hirers instructions will be only placed there at the hirers absolute liability for any damage caused whatsoever.

NO BURNING

No fires are allowed in the skip.

Full costs of repairing burned/damaged skips will be charged to the hirer for all necessary welding and repainting of the skip.
